Minster Chiropractic Center Knows Anatomy Well, Knows Your Spine Well

Your Minster chiropractor knows your spine! Minster Chiropractic Center understands anatomy. Back in chiropractic school, your chiropractor studied a lot about anatomy of the spine and utilizes that knowledge every day. Knowing the anatomy of the spine is continually at the forefront of your chiropractor’s mind as you and each spine pain, neck pain, back pain patient comes into the practice! It’s so exciting! (Are you not you glad someone finds it exciting?)

LEARNING ANATOMY IN SCHOOL

Going through school, we were all guilty of learning only to pass a test. When in professional school, such learning is more important than ever since it will influence everyday work. (How much do you remember from your school days?) An international survey of chiropractors and anatomists discovered that chiropractors felt that a higher level of anatomy instruction during chiropractic education was beneficial for clinical practice, allowing better understanding, application, and analysis of anatomical information to support a clinical decision in their daily clinical practice. (1) An Australian study of chiropractors compared their knowledge of anatomy to that of chiropractic students. The chiropractic practitioners reported that they knew their anatomy and demonstrated it in a test showing their knowledge. This was contrasted to the equivalent in their chiropractic student counterparts. The chiropractors showed that they retained their knowledge of anatomy - and knew they did! – contradicting the hypothesis that practicing chiropractors may not retain it after a period of time. Knowledge of anatomy is utilized every day in chiropractic practice, and chiropractors understand their anatomy. (2) Your Minster chiropractor does! We’ll be happy to talk about it!

SPINAL ANATOMY KNOWLEDGE PUT TO USE IN CHIROPRACTIC CLINICAL PRACTICE

Performing spinal manipulation daily applies knowledge of the spine’s anatomy every day. The most ordinary reasons people said they sought chiropractic care were low back pain (49.7%), neck pain (22.5%), and extremity issues (10.0%). The typical treatment they received were spinal manipulation (79.3%), soft tissue therapy (35.1%), and formal patient education (31.3%). (3) Spinal conditions get a lot of attention from chiropractic patients and their chiropractors, of course! But fortunate side effects of chiropractic care emerge in the medical literature as well like potential cardiovascular benefit. In a placebo-controlled, assessor-blinded, randomized trial, researchers described the immediate effects of upper thoracic spine manual therapy on cardiovascular autonomic control of musculoskeletal pain patients (ie, back pain, spine pain, neck pain, etc.). The researchers stated that musculoskeletal pain intensified the risk of cardiovascular events. (4) Come feel these benefits of chiropractic treatment based on spinal anatomy knowledge.
