Minster Chiropractic Center's Use of Ultrasound

As a therapeutic modality, ultrasound is a form of heat treatment for soft tissue injuries to reduce swelling and pain, reduce muscle spasms, and expand the range of motion. Making high frequency sound waves, ultrasound penetrates deep into a damaged area, creating heat that draws blood into the area in order to enhance the mending process.

Ultrasound is administered softly with a handheld soundhead, that uses strokes or circles over the pain stricken area. An ultrasound gel might be administered during the ultrasound therapy session. The role of an ultrasound is to speed up your healing time and reduce your pain.
